Here’s to 10 years! A celebration of looking back and thinking forward with the people that made it possible

The wine was flowing, the masks were off. Colleagues and clients, many who hadn’t seen each other in months, if not years, were reunited to celebrate 10 years of Polymorph.

The setting: The exquisite La Piñeta in Stellenbosch, with views of Table Mountain, a picturesque sunset, and a glowing log fire.

The crowd: Our founders, Polypeeps from all over SA (and Africa!), our shareholders (Alphawave Group), clients (new + old) and a range of talented people we partner with.

The vibe: Fine dining and fun – think some good-natured ribbing, lots of laughing, perhaps a bit of tekkie-squeaking from both those with rhythm and those without.

Ten years ago, our four founders, Richard Barry, Herman Lintvelt, Wim Morris, and Colin Payne, decided to build an app development company that would have fun building apps that users love.

Now, a full decade later, Polymorph builds great software – great for businesses, great for people who use it, great for the people who build it. And we have a lot more people building great software: we’ve added 20 new staff members in the last year.

But as much as the evening was about looking back and celebrating our collective achievements with our clients, Polymorph is not a business that likes to sit still. Our team has big ambitions and a clear vision for the future. Our current CEO, Lize Monametsi, noted:

"For the last 10 years, we've been creating people-centred software products that will shape future businesses. And as our name suggests, we've adapted, innovated and often learnt from the people and businesses we've worked with. Cheers to the victories and the future and continuing to enrich the lives of those who use the software we build. Let's raise our glasses to another decade of building great software that puts people first."

Events take a lot of effort, and this special evening would not have been possible without Helena, Eula and Madi’s planning and decor skills. Of course, pics or it didn’t happen – a big thank you to Wil Punt for photographing this iconic milestone for us.
